With their patronage, Dikranian enjoyed appointments to a number of desirable positions in both the capital and the provinces. His efforts in that field, which had begun in the 1840s, had won him the support of Armenian liberals in the Ottoman capital, Istanbul, who then used their influence with both the Armenian Church and the Ottoman imperial government to advance his career. Despite these challenges, he had made a name for himself as an author and activist, most notably in the arena of education. ![]() As an Armenian bishop from Diyarbakir, a largely Kurdish region in southeastern Anatolia, Dikranian found that trouble had made a habit of tracking him down. ![]() ![]() it's so inconsistent with the characters like when levi says "good girl" im like ? he doesn't give off good girl vibes□ & he says stuff like "i want to fuck you. maybe i wanted more? idk if i wanted more tension or like build up or just more smut but its so hard for me to connect to it. it's so random, im not feeling it at all. levi is this mountain of swoon that's misunderstood. bee is just a very fun, science obsessed character who's reluctant to love & i appreciate & relate to that. i think a huge part of that was BECAUSE i forgot most of the love hypothesis that i don't see the similarities between the characters or the basic storyline so im glad i waited. but i was immediately sucked in & remembered how much i like her writing & her humour. ![]() i picked this up yesterday after like 3 dnfs & just being kinda burntout from reading. ![]() so i waited until i completely forgot most of the story. ![]() i usually forget books in like 2 days max unless i rlllly like it & i rlly liked the love hypothesis. Their years of public admiration for the Russian strongman and his government, led by our own fawning circus strongman, now suddenly look naive at best, and certainly stupid.īut stupid can also be dangerous. On the wide and colorful right fringe of our national tapestry, the news is hard to swallow. That is global news, but a few people here at home openly support the other side. For our military and all the militaries in NATO, for our government forced to respond to invasion of our ally, for populations and governments around the world, Russia is now the enemy. Until two weeks ago, Russia was merely our global adversary. Everybody knows what is happening, except perhaps the few remaining Russians who still believe the lies their governments have been telling them their whole lives. ![]() Like modern wars, the Russian attack on Ukraine is televised. The fighting is being done by our ally Ukraine, to whom every administration has given economic and military aid since the last time Russia invaded Ukraine to carve off Crimea in 2014. Economic war certainly, political war at the highest level, military assistance but no actual fighting for us. ![]() ![]() ![]() After some careful sleuthing, they manage to discover its location, and once inside, they find another clue.
